Delphine studied Fine Art at Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Lyon follow a few years later, a Masters in illustration at Central St Martins in London What inspires your work as an artist? Probably whatever is going on in my life at the time. I'm interested in psychology, popular culture, fairy tales, body horror, storytelling and mythology... Who are your biggest influences? There has been so many over the years. I would say Mrzyk & Moriceau, Pina Bausch, Julia Ducournau, Paula Rego and more recently Rong Bao to name just a few... What does your work mean to you? Each of my images tells a particular story. I draw a lot of women warriors, so often the meaning has to do with survival and protection. The "Inner Child" is an important theme for me. It represents the child we have been, but also the playfulness, the irreverence and the vulnerability that I care to protect. It's a bit like therapy really! What techniques do you use? My original drawings are done traditionally with ink, watercolour and acrylic, whilst my editions are created digitally: I start with hand made drawings that are later scanned, coloured and composed on computer to produce an "original print"
